Someday when I can actually formulate a complete thought, I’ll write about parenting. But that’s not gonna be today.
I’m glad you all have stopped in to see my blog, and I’m enjoying getting to know everyone and look around more. When I decided to start a blog, I was so happy at the thought of actually having an intellectual life again, but those poetic posts I imagined are still hiding in the dusty corners of my brain somewhere. Maybe they’ll simmer in there (ooh, mixed metaphor) and emerge fully cooked one day soon.
For now, this is what’s cookin’ at our house tonight. This is one of the best and easiest stroganoff recipes I’ve found. It’s relatively kid friendly. I figure they can survive on buttered noodles and a roll and a bite or two of unfamiliar saucy meat item.
Today was our church’s yard sale. We are raising money to build a school in Rwanda. We need $30,000 more to begin construction (baby steps…), and we have raised $70,000 in the last year. Someday I’ll blog about this too because there are some interesting threads there. Suffice it to say, I am feeling depleted from helping out while chasing a two-year-old who is just about ready to give up naps. I am the one really suffering from the lack of rest time this week since I have not been pushing him to nap every day.
Time to refuel…
I too have done a yard sale with a 2 year old…and barely lived to tell about it. I know you must be tired. Hope you can hang on to that rest time, I remember that season. It’s hard.
