So, this picture reminded me of one of my all-time favorite dreams that is quite appropriate to our recent discussions of all things Advent. I was in my twenties when I had this dream, recently married, probably with a lot of angst related to the “when are y’all gonna have a baby?” question because I wasn’t sure I would be a very good mom.
The plot of the dream is really quite simple, and I consider it a complete and total gift from God. One time, Mary asked me to hold the baby Jesus for her. And I did. And I glowed. And from then on I had a certain peace about my future as a mom that I never had before.
What about you? Got any favorite dreams? Or any dreams that hold special spiritual significance for you?
Don’t forget to take time to hold that baby Jesus this coming week and bask in His glow.

I love that dream! wow.
The only one that stands out is a distinct dream where there was a large bird pecking at my right hand, while I was on a boat. (and other stuff…
I was blessed to know a man who could interpret and without knowing ANYthing….he did so. (It had to do with headship and submission….spot-on at that time!) I loved that God used something like a dream, rather than beat me over the head with it.
Now submission is no big deal. In fact, I really like that my man’s in charge.
I had a very strong dream while I was pregnant with Miss 11 Months. My dad has passed away a few months before - Naomi’s due date was the 1 year anniversary of his death. In my dream, I was sitting in the front pew of our little church, and our priest (a family friend for many years), was singing a hymn.
The priest’s father, who was very dear to us and passed away a few years ago, sat beside me, held my hand and said “Everything is just fine”. I never knew whether he meant that the baby was fine, or that he and my dad were enjoying hot toddies by a warm fire, with St Peter. But as Naomi was born on her due date, the anniversary of dad’s passing, I believe it meant he is watching over the grandaughter he never met.
Wow–that is a pretty cool dream you had!! I love it when God speaks to our hearts with such meaningful images. I don’t have a good example to share publicly, but I have had them too.
A blessed Christmas to you and your family!!
