We-e-e-ll doggies! I felt a bit like Granny cookin’ her lye soap out by the cee-ment pond, but I did it; I made batch one of “bloginmyeye’s homemade launderin’ soap.”
It was actually fun, and I am quite pleased with the results thus far. I just took the first load out of the washer, and it looks “cleaner than a hound’s tooth” and “pretty as a bag filled with striped candy.” And it smells like absolutely nothing at all. That lack of smell-ness says CLEAN to me. No dirt smell, AND no fake clean smell. Bonus.
Thanks, Gayle, for the recipe and the inspiration.
Next time I run out of dishwasher detergent, I think I’ll cook up a little of that too.
Okay, I’m super impressed. I’m pretty taken with Tide, but the cost analysis looks pretty convincing. If I try this, I’ll certainly let you know.
what….am I going to be the last person to try this?
I’m feeling bullied.
Go you! : ) I’m short-circuiting at the thought of another project though, so I’ll just stand on the sidelines and cheer : ) Go Ellie Mae!!
Yea! for you. I’m still working through a bulk box of ALL but this is definitely something I want to try. Keep us updated on how it’s working, will you?
