Hey everybody! Look how our garden grows.
This corn’s a redhead!
Those *&%^ Japanese beetles keep eating my basil, but I WILL have pesto.
Lettuce! I’ve already harvested about half of what was there. We could never grow lettuce in South Carolina, so this is a special treat for us. I confess I always feel a little naughty pulling greens out of the yard and then bringing them inside to eat. I half-expect to hear my mom’s voice saying, “You can’t eat that! You just pulled it out of the dirt!”
But isn’t it pretty? And delicious.
I love when my garden starts producing. Right now I’ve got lettuce coming out my ears and more beets than I know what to do with.
Your bouquet looks beautiful.
How much fun! Nothing wrong with eating that lettuce just after it has been in the dirt. I love it! 🙂
NUMMIES! 🙂
I much prefer the saying ‘fresh is best’ and what could be fresher than just pulling out of the dirt? 🙂

Those #$&! beetles. LOLOLOL. You crack me up.
Love your garden! I hope to start one of my own someday when my little guy can keep his little hands away from the plants!
Mmmm…your garden looks great!!
I just left a comment on the Japanese beetle problem at Megan’s. I used an organic concoction that had detergent (to make it stick to the leaves), and cayenne pepper–oh, and maybe garlic powder? You could probably google it. It worked pretty well!
You’d just have to rinse those leaves off good…

You’re garden is making my garden jealous.
Your garden is AMAZING! Way cooler than mine!
