I am a Southern-born girl now living in the Midwest. I am an artist’s wife and a stay-at-home mom to two sweet, sticky children. B.C. (before children), I was a professional librarian and amateur violinist. Now, in addition to my mommage, I am a tai chi afficianado and burgeoning scrapbooker. I am still trying to figure out how all of these things fit back together into the puzzle that is the enigma that is me.
I keep looking for a real picture of me to use in an avatar. But the avatar’s hair looks better and her glasses never get a glare on them. So, for now, here’s a glimpse of the real me with the fam:
This is neither here nor there, but I have recently become in love with the name Lainey. Also I have always lived in the Midwest (except for a brief, unfortunate stay on the East Coast) and wouldn’t live anywhere else. Hope you don’t miss the South too much.
Hey - thanks for the link to the concert t-shirt etiquette forum! It was a delight. And your vote helps a lot - I think ‘grown-up’ is the better look…I’ll save the t-shirt for another record store appearance (that’s where I got my first one signed).
Love the comments you’ve been leaving, and I enjoy reading your posts, too.
be well*stephanie
I was also a librarian BC, or rather, I graduated from library school six weeks before becoming a Mom. I never bothered applying for any professional librarian positions, and have yet to regret it (even though I loved my time working in libraries).
Glad to have found your blog.
I was born and raised in the Midwest; then lived in Georgia for about 6 years. I miss it, but am back in the mitten (Michigan) again and it’s a great place to raise kids. Hopefully you are having the same experience in the midwest..
Lainey,
Hi…found your blog today via the Fall Y’all Giveaway. I absolutely love your blog name, and I’ve loved visiting here tonight. I’ll be back!
Hi!
Hey, I tagged you for a weird things meme - I realize now I never did the one you tagged me for (middle name); I’m so ashamed…But I will get on that!
Hope your Thanksgiving was delightful
take care
